Matthew 5:7 (KJV)
7  Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

I heard it said that “common sense is not a flower that blooms in every ones garden!” That can also be said about compassion. Colossians 3:12 (KJV)
12  Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; it takes work to have compassion. As we put on the ways of Christ, this character trait comes into conflict with the flesh and the world and we fight to let the compassion of Christ rule in us. We must always be alert to sinicism and elitism.

Christ teaches us the way of compassion when spoke to women taken in adultery. After He had shamed all those who held rocks to stone her it was just Him and her. Jesus had the right to condemn her but chose compassion and stayed on target.  John 3:17 (KJV) 17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. But He did not miss the opportunity to teach us how to react to people who already know of their sin. John 8:10-11 (KJV)
10  When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11   She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
Our Master doesn’t condemn instead you see real compassion. He also did not condone her actions. He said ”go and sin no more”. Real Mercy! We are blessed.
