Matthew 5:8 (KJV)
8  Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

“This is the most comprehensive of all the beatitudes; here holiness and happiness are fully described and put together.”
Matthew Henry's Commentary on the Whole Bible.

I try to stay away from big scary words of theology. But here we must go there. Sanctification is the continual process where God is conforming us to the image of Christ. When you give your life to Jesus as Lord you are sanctified (made holy) through the indwelling spirit and the blood of Christ. This begins the process where God is continually making you holy. Pure in Heart! This process concludes when we are Glorified, when we finally enter into His presence.

The Psalmist asks the question, Psalm 24:3 (KJV)
“3  Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place?” He then answers that question, Psalm 24:4 (KJV)
4  He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

I here remind you that there is no salvation without conversion. No matter how high you life up dirty hands or have a heart that is in rebellion will you ever ascend into the hill of the Lord. But thanks to the blood of Christ which cleanses us from all sin we can claim the promises of God to His Children. We are blessed!
